Yulia Brodskaya is a graphic designer and paper artist. Her paper art revolves around aging and is influenced by her own mortality.
The work uses quilling which is rolling skinny sheets of paper into parts of the final piece. Her pieces show very vibrant colours. One advantage to using quilling is that it can show wrinkles very well, which works well with the subject matter she uses.
She tries to show some dignity towards the elderly by using these vibrant colours. However the pieces that are not about older people is till very appealing and shows her versatility. These artworks illustrate her talent and her great understanding of the human form and more.

Objectified Response
This is a desk I designed. One major theme I saw in the movie was the idea of taking something you normally use and redesigning it to achieve the specific task better. I felt that my own desk I use at home was very busy, in that there were protrusions coming from the desk that limited the amount of space I had to work with. There are two drawers on top of the desk and an elevated platform that rests on top of the drawers. It was never a problem before, but since I've started studying at ACAD my desk has become useless for most of the work I do.
I wanted to use very little space on the desk with extras so I tried to keep things very simple. I angled the desk to create a better environment for drawing and typing. I added a stop for pens or pencils because the desk is angled and a stop on the end of it so it won't slide off as easily. A hole in the top right was added for cords to go through. There is also a level surface in the top left to put something on it, like a lamp or a water bottle. I feel this design would help people who want just a simple desk with none of the clutter on top so they could utilize a lot more space.
